Is a bay surrounded by a vaguely wild environment and this contributes to the charm of the place, rather it is the main ingredient.
The beach is very wide and reddish color, the sand is thin, and it's characterized by a light wind.
A friend once told the she felt like Porto Ferro beach was immersed in the sixties. I think she was right. I think the imagination need to work too much to understand the why of this feeling, you just need to look around.
The bay is enclosed between two towers, Torre Negra to the North and Torre de Bantine to the south.
From the inside of the bay you can see a third tower, the White Tower,. These are all Spanish buildings from the seventeenth century.
In summer this bay is a docile and calm.
Currents and wind and high and long waves characterize it in Spring and Autumn , and here it isĀ Porto Ferro populated by surfers who find here the most ideal conditions.
Some campers parked in front of the sea, bathers united by the desire to seek a beach outside the normal tour standards, wild and subtly retro tasting, the dark and warm colours of the sand and the sea, the turbulentand "spiteful" waters, Porto ferro seems to be resisting to be tame, resistant to the massive tourism yet, that's why it seems to belong to another time, and we want it to remain as it is.
