Below is given a list of places where you can have beautiful diving (or snorkeling), but it certainly will not be an exhaustive list.
Any angle of the coast of Sardinia, in fact, is a unique and incredible spot, where to dive is a sensational and unique experience. The north of Sardinia in particular offers many opportunities for diving.
HERE ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DIVING NORTH EAST SARDINIA:
Il Portone
LOCATION: Capo Figari (north-east Sardinia)
This is one of the most varied diving, fun and colorful Capofigari. Suitable for all skill levels,
Il Portone allows to visit an incredibly fascinating seabed.
The first part of the dive is at a depth of only 8 feet, then dropped down a landslide.
At -18 meters is one of the nicest surprises, "the Drôme": a large room inside the surprisingly rich colors, with small and large cracks on the rock that allows light to play with the undisturbed water.
Parazoantos and Dromia personata (crabs porters) are indiscreet audience of our draft, which continues until we reach the splitting of the door, a beautiful cave which narrows slowly and that has always animated by aragostelle and ceriantus.
CALACORSI (THE CRIB)
LOCATION: Capo Figari (north-east Sardinia)
Capo Figari is a huge limestone massif.DIFFICOLTÀ: easy MAXIMUM DEPTH: -20 feet CURRENT:weak ANCHOR: easy.
A nice dive, embellished with a curious surprise. Cala Corsi takes its name from the large colony of corsican gulls always present in front of the berth. Going down a few feet, it runs along the west wall of
Figarolo. Groupers, moray eels, croaker, monkfish and sea slugs keep us company throughout the dive, along with beautiful benches of mennole and bream, which attract migratory fish such as amberjack and tuna. In return, here's the surprise: there is a curious submerged crib, put behind the current to wish good luck to divers and
fishermen. Between Joseph and Mary, Jesus will still be to have multiplied the fishes?
PUNTA LA MANDRIA
LOCATION: Between Tavolara and Molara (North-East Sardinia) Difficulty: easy / medium depth: -40 m CURRENT: weak, sometimes strong ANCHOR: easy.
Dive at PUNTA LA MANDRIA is suitable for lovers of sea and fans of sea slugs. It easy to find several examples of these species such as
Dorides , the Flabellines and Cratene. The difficulty of the dive depends on the current. If in fact can be so simple to dive in these waters with calm seas, everything becomes more complicated when it is rough.
In any case, the dive is worth doing, especially to admire the "Panettone" that sinks up to 40 meters deep, always covered with a thick Paramuricea clavata (red gorgonian). It is not uncommon to meet migratory fish, however large.
THE CANYON
LOCATION: Capo Figari (north-east Sardinia) Capo Figari is a huge limestone massif. The draft is in its south-east wall.
Difficulty: Easy MAXIMUM DEPTH: 35/40 m CURRENT: sometimes supported ANCHOR: easy.
The dive is immediately interesting after a few meters deep. Slowly it comes in a small canyon at -30
mt.
The show is not to be missed, with the formation of mushroom-shaped corals that are raised by an enchanting seabed of white sand.
Lobsters, moray eels, nudibranchs and forkbeards are a constant and unfailing company that will guide us to a treasure
History: to -36 mt we have in fact some anchors of the Byzantine era, in excellent condition.
Grotta Bolle e Sifone
LOCATION: Capo Figari (north-east Sardinia) Capo Figari is a huge limestone massif. Difficulty: Medium
MAXIMUM DEPTH: -20 feet CURRENT: weak
ANCHOR: easy
After anchoring just off the limestone cliffs of Capo Figari, there is the wall on the right and starts descent.
Around -20 we meet the first cave: L Bolla.
Taking care not to lift the sand, you can see beautiful species of crustaceans, as Stenophus spinosus, the Galathea strigosa el'Herbstia Condylar. Still slowly, we start to climb inside the cave to
a bubble of breathable air, which gives its name to the cave. After looking the splendid spectacle of stalactites, we admire around the many ghost shrimp, mechanical prawns, lobsters and grasshoppers and you can leave satisfied by
cave.
At this point we can move towards the second cave, the Sifone. A name that is not for frightening, but only because it had the shape of "S" , Sifone in Italy means also trap. The entrance is quite narrow for this. Once inside you can slowly base on
the bottom of white pebbles, to admire the many crustaceans and croakers around us. So we can go back and finish
our unforgettable dive.
TEDJIA LISCIA
LOCATION: Tavolara (North-East Sardinia)
The diving point is halfway between Punta della Mandria and Punta Papa DIFFICULTY: medium depth
MAX: 20 feet POWER: poor or absent ANCHOR: easy
This dive site is named as the flat wall which is in front ofthe berth. At a short distance from the shore, on a rocky seabed about 15 meters deep, we head to the west. The dive continues following the profile of the coast
and maintaining the depth of 20 meters. With a torch you can explore all the cracks of this beautiful diving, looking for a marine life that is not difficult to find.
The long and colorful wall itself is full of life, then think about the big coral boulders to act as a hiding place.
GROTTA DEL SATANA
LOCATION: Capo Figari (north-east Sardinia) Capo Figari is a huge limestone massif. Difficulty: Easy
MAXIMUM DEPTH: -20 feet CURRENT: weak ANCHOR: easy.
A terrible name for a quiet and relaxing dive. That the Cave of Satan is perhaps the easiest dive you can do in the seas and Capofigari and Tavolara. This does not mean it is not interesting, indeed.
Satan's Cave makes it possible to see a unique landscapes in shallow water, offering a diverse and suggestive seascapes.
It starts from a plateau -5m, and then follow toa landslide a rich of crabs and moray eels. At -18mt We meet large
rocks, with numerous cracks and crevices where it is easy to encounter groupers and octopuses.
Going back to a height of -8m you can
enter into a beautiful, large cave, always rich of marine encounters.
