
The "canyoning" is that particular sport that consist of descending, on foot or with the help of mountaineering equipment, creeks, characterized by small-scale (usually less than 200 liters per second) and high gradient, and stuck in narrow gorges hewn out into the rock.
In the downclimb , the mostly used technique is the Doubled Rope Technique that allows, to recover the rope once you get off from the anchor point.
Once you are down climbing you can not go back, but only go down until the exit. The term
normally used by practitioners to indicate this is "gorge". The obstacles in a gorgeĀ are
mainly represented by deep pools and waterfalls, which interrupt the stream.
